I looked up this word on dictionary.com to make sure I was using it correctly, and was amused by what I read. I'm pretty sure I picked the correct title for this blog, because I've already learned something curious.
From the thesaurus entry:
continually means 'repeatedly, with breaks in between' and continuously means 'without interruption, in an unbroken stream
And from the dictionary entry:
Although usage guides generally advise that continual may be used only to mean “intermittent” and continuous only to mean “uninterrupted,” the words are used interchangeably in all kinds of speech and writing with no distinction in meaning
